Somalia is smiling, while wearing a bright green blazer. She has on gold decorative earrings and her hair is curled.

Singing since the age of 10, Somalia is an emerging R&B singer, songwriter, and performing artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. A natural-born performer, she did musical theatre, chorus, and talent shows every year in grade school. Somalia's love for the performing arts led her to earn a B.A. from Spelman College and to travel to London to study music and songwriting at Goldsmith's University of London.

Somalia creates music that infuses sounds from R&B, Neo-Soul, Pop and Hip-Hop music. Inspired by artists like Brandy, Anita Baker, Minnie Riperton, Missy Elliott and Jill Scott, Somalia writes and collaborates with live musicians to create her unique live sound. Performing live is her favorite part of being an artist, so she decided to take her show on the road for her debut tour “The Rock Steady Love Tour” which was a six-city tour that she coordinated and funded by herself. Some of her current and previous live performance work has been with The Atlanta Beltline, The Atlanta Taste of Soul Festival, National Black Arts Festival, ELEVATE Atlanta, Six Flags Over Georgia, The New Georgia Project, Fulton County Arts & Culture, UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, and NAMI. She was recently selected to be a part of the inaugural MTV First Time Composers program.

Her “Mimosa” music video has over 15,000 views on YouTube! Her most recently released project “Party of One” (2022) is available to stream on all major platforms.
